9 months!!

Almost there! We are beyond excited for Nugget's arrival (any day now)!! 

The progression of my baby bump:)

36 Weeks!

Met with our OB today to take a look at Nugget. The ultrasound showed Nugget staring straight back at us! He is head down and facing towards my belly. The optimal position for birth is to have him turn around and face my back, so I have some home exercises to start. He is weighing in around 5lb11oz and she thinks he will gain approximately another pound before the big day!

32 weeks!

32 Weeks!! Everything is going well! Nugget is head down and getting ready for his journey into this world as Lucas and I continue to prepare for his arrival. Childbirth classes started this week!
He is weighing in around 4lbs and about 17in long, approximately the size of a jicama. Heartbeat is in the 140s and strong. He gets the hiccups in the morning when I wake up and in the evening before bedtime. I enjoy watching his little body bounce around each time.

My doctor cleared me for some light activity just in time to enjoy a weekend with friends!

Monterey Baby Shower

A few weeks ago my co-workers had a shower for me. I had a great time, got some wonderful gifts and got some awesome surprises set up by my friend Kaitlyn:)

I had my 30 week checkup last week and everything is looking great! I am measuring on the small side but my doctor is not concerned, she believes I just have a little guy:) Nugget is approximately the size of a head of cabbage measuring around 3lbs! Baby will have a growth spurt and start gaining about 1/2 lb each week until he comes.
We are starting to get anxious to meet and hold him:) Not too much longer to go!

28 weeks!

Third (and final) trimester!!! Only 12 weeks more weeks till we meet our lil Nugget:) We are beginning to prepare for Nugget's arrival. Our office is slowly converting into a nursery:) We are signed up for birthing classes next month and a tour of the hospital. Happily, I will be delivering at the hospital that I have been working at and it is only a 4 minute drive from our house! 
Baby is approximately the size of a chinese cabbage, weighing in around 2.5lbs. I thought I was feeling him a lot in the previous few weeks, but over the past few days he must have learned how to somersault or grab onto his feet! I am feeling his movements all the time and they are stronger and feel more purposeful. My favorite is when he stretches and pushes out on my belly:) I think I have felt him hiccuping a few times too. He has just about reached my ribs so I have felt the occasional kick to my ribs.
His heartbeat is strong enough now for me to hear very faintly with my stethoscope when he is in the right position! He has learned to open his eyes and blink and will react to bright lights. He is really starting to pack on the fat and will triple his weight by his birthday. 
Everything went well at my doctor's appointment. Still measuring well and his heartbeat was strong and fast:) We have had a good two weeks with no problems!

6 months down!

A few weeks ago I had a successful trip to Babies R Us with Kaitlyn! So grateful for Kaitlyn and her patience with me and my in-decisions! Babies R Us can be a very overwhelming place!
We also took a day trip to beautiful Big Sur!  

I met with my OB for a follow-up visit on my ultrasound. Baby is still looking well and healthy but as a precaution my modified bed rest is to continue and restrict my activities even more so. Good thing I have 2 adorable puppies to keep me company and I have lots of knitting projects to tackle!

This is the latest project!

24 weeks!

24 weeks!! Met with my doctor this week. Baby's heartbeat sounded great and my uterus is measuring right where it should be, so Nugget should be right on track for growth. He is around 1.25-1.5lbs and approximately 12 inches (or an ear of corn:) His lungs are now developed and producing surfactant that will help inflate his lungs once he takes his first breath. Nugget's taste buds are developing and everything I eat he gets a taste of(i bet he will love chocolate)! He is able to hear outside noises including his barking brothers and loud noises can even startle him. I am feeling him move even more these days sometimes it feels like he is doing the wave:)  Now that he has a sense of touch and he is able to feel my hand on my belly and will squirm or kick it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a lovely Christmas at home! Lucas cooked a pheasant mac & cheese for  Christmas dinner:) We received so many wonderful gifts from our loved ones! Christmas is Brody's favorite holiday, really enjoys unwrapping presents and playing with his new toys! Nugget even got a few gifts this year!

We spent NYE in a cabin outside Yosemite with our friends Kaitlyn and Matt. Yosemite is beautiful in winter. The waterfalls were flowing and the ground was covered in snow making for a amazing scene. We enjoyed hot chocolate and smores by the fireplace and a duck and pheasant dinner.

Since my last post Lucas has been able to feel Nugget kicking and moving around! He has become a lot more active over the past few weeks! It seems like my belly is getting bigger each day! He is weighing in around 1lb now approximately the size of a spaghetti squash. His ears are fully developed and can hear our voices now:)
